THE VIEW

Coastal Café is a live cam from our studio at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard. It faces the public boat launch across the channel, so you'll see kayakers and charter boats heading out, plus the sea lions and pelicans who were here first. Frank, our resident great blue heron, usually naps on a neighbor's sailboat. The stained glass in the corner is digital and keeps a couple of neighbors' boats off camera.

Rowers from Channel Islands Rowing Club head out around dawn, and sailboats and Duffy boats drift through the rest of the day. Keep an eye on the water between the docks for harbor seals, and on the rocks for cormorants drying their wings. At night it's harbor lights on the water and planes overhead.
