Footage and Photo Licensing

Native 4K footage and high-resolution photos from the California coast, from harbors and open water to the Channel Islands, with a deep focus on sea otters and pinnipeds. Everything is licensed for broadcast, film, web and print. Tell me what you need below and I'll reply with a quote.

What's in the Archive

Southern sea otters

Mothers floating with pups on their chests, pups grooming and nursing, and adults feeding at the surface, slapping and tearing prey apart on their bellies, mostly at Elkhorn Slough and Morro Bay. New mother and pup footage from fall 2026 hasn't been published anywhere yet.

Sea lions and seals

California sea lions hauled out and swimming, many of them at Channel Islands Harbor where I live and work, plus elephant seals at Piedras Blancas, from sparring to the first pup of the 2025 to 2026 season. Stills cover harbor seals on the Channel Islands as well.

Coast and harbor

Dolphins, seabirds and shorebirds, boats and harbor life, dock fouling communities, sea caves and island scenics, plus monarchs wintering at Pismo Beach.

How it's made

Wildlife is filmed on Sony A1 II and a6700 bodies with long telephoto lenses, mostly at 600mm and beyond, under my Admire from Afar method. Nothing is baited or AI-generated, and I hold one of only three CAWS (Certified Wildlife Steward) photography certifications awarded worldwide.

How Licensing Works

What decides the price?

Mostly where the work will appear and for how long, then the territory and how much you use. A short web clip and a multi-year broadcast license are priced very differently, so each request gets its own quote.

How is footage delivered?

As original 4K files, clean, with no graphics or watermarks. If your production has a delivery spec, include it with your request.

Can you shoot something specific?

Yes. If the archive doesn’t have the shot you need, I can film it as an on-location production, from $2,500, including underwater work by arrangement.

Do you work with nonprofits?

Yes. Nonprofits and community organizations get sliding-scale rates, so tell me about the project when you write.

License Terms

Rights-managed

Every license is written for the specific use, territory and term in your quote. Copyright stays with Salt + Noelle, LLC.

One production

A license covers only the production or project named in it and can’t be resold, sublicensed or passed to another production.

No AI use

Using my footage or photos to train AI or generate synthetic media isn’t permitted under any license.

Delivery and credit

Files are delivered once the license is signed and paid, and each license sets its own credit line.

On a Deadline?

Put your deadline in the request and I'll tell you right away whether it works.
